SEA:LEARN, or the Seas of East Asia Learning Exchange and Resource Network (SEA:LEARN), is being developed and designed to be the Knowledge Management Platform for coastal and marine management in the region by serving as the gateway to a wealth of authoritative data and information, and analyses to support managers, decisionmakers and other stakeholders. This project deliverable contributes to all three SCS SAP components.

Objective: Revitalize regional mechanisms for communication, knowledge exchange, and information/data sharing. It aims to be a dynamic gateway to regional knowledge and project management, to unify stakeholders for effective marine and coastal ecosystem (MCE) management and support in decision-making through shared learning and collaboration.

Core focus areas:

  • Online platform: Establishment of a decentralized online SEA:LEARN platform with blended AI and regional expertise analyses and decision support tool. This also includes sustained operation of the SCS SAP project website and associated regional databases, linking them to regional online platforms and databases and GEF Knowledge Management systems (like IW:LEARN).

  • Content codification: Codifying rich content and increasing and enhancing access to case studies, best practices, data and insights, national and regional experts rosters, among others.

  • Communication strategy: Developing and implementing a communication strategy to amplify SEA:LEARN visibility and promote engagement between the SCS SAP, national and regional partners.

Current progress: A concept note has been drafted, communication and networking with potential collaborators is ongoing, and the procurement process for platform development service provider is in progress.
