 The SCS SAP Steering Committee’s role is to provide managerial and governa
 nce advice to the project\, and to guide the Project Coordination Unit (PC
 U)\, in the implementation and monitoring of the overall regional project.
  The SCS SAP Steering Committee also provides a regional forum for reviewi
 ng and resolving national concerns\, reviewing and approving annual work p
 lans and budgets\, and provides a regional forum for stakeholder participa
 tion. The objectives of this Second Steering Committee Meeting included: 1
 ) discuss project progress and implementation at regional and national lev
 els\, 2) discuss habitats and land-based pollution achievements in impleme
 nting the SAP during 2008 – 2021\, 3) discuss and adopt regional and natio
 nal activities for implementation under Components 2 and 3\, and 4) discus
 s and adopt the revised workplan and budget. \nAs to the plans for 2024 an
 d onwards\, the Steering Committee agreed on the revised work plan and bud
 get including the no cost extension until December 2026\, expediting the p
 roject execution following the approved revised work plan for 2024 and bey
 ond\, initiating the amendment process of the PCA with countries\, initiat
 ing the amendment and signing process of the Letter of Agreement (LOA) bet
 ween UNEP and UNOPS\, finalizing TORs for recruitment process\, organizati
 on regional activities\, and enhancing project's visibility.\n \n{loadmodu
